The Society of Mary acknowledges with deep sadness and real regret that some Marist priests and brothers have sexually abused young people and adults who were in their pastoral care, in colleges or in parishes.

We apologise unreservedly to all those who have been harmed and commit to responding effectively, justly and compassionately to all those who have been hurt. We also acknowledge that at times the Society of Mary failed to respond effectively to those who made these serious disclosures of abuse.
