Marist Brothers

The Marist Brothers are an international Catholic congregation founded in 1817 by Saint Marcellin Champagnat in France. Dedicated to making Jesus Christ known and loved through education, they focus especially on children and young people, particularly those most in need. Today, Marist Brothers and their lay partners serve in schools and ministries around the world, guided by a spirit of simplicity, presence, and family, and inspired by the example of Mary.

Marist Sisters

The Marist Sisters are an international congregation of women founded in 1817 in France, inspired by the vision of Jean-Claude Colin. Living in the spirit of Mary, they are called to bring the Gospel to life through quiet presence, service, and compassion, particularly among those who are most in need.

Today, Marist Sisters serve in communities around the world through pastoral care, education, and social outreach, seeking to be a gentle yet faithful presence in the Church and in the world.

SMSM Sisters

The Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary are an international congregation of women founded in 1845 by Jean-Claude Colin, with a special call to missionary service beyond their home countries. Inspired by the example of Mary, they live and work among diverse cultures, often in remote or underserved communities.

Committed to making God’s love present in the world, the SMSM Sisters engage in education, healthcare, pastoral ministry, and social outreach, with a particular concern for those on the margins. Their life is marked by simplicity, adaptability, and a deep spirit of service.

Marist Laity

Marist Laity New Zealand is a community of lay men and women who share in the Marist charism and seek to live the Gospel in the spirit of Mary within their everyday lives. Inspired by the wider Marist family, they commit to values of humility, simplicity, and quiet service, bringing a Marian presence into their families, workplaces, and communities.

Through prayer, reflection, and connection with others, Marist Laity support one another in living out this vocation, responding to the needs of the world with compassion, faith, and a strong sense of community.
